How to find "web" Compatable Internet Sites

Despite "web" being more than an adequate Internet browser the grey scales of the screen do not do most sites any real justice. Also being out and about means that you are either running up someone elses phone bill or, perhaps, surfing through an expensive mobile. In these situations web sites that load quickly and are low on graphics are a god send.

Most web sites will work on the Psion providing that they don't use frames, java, javascript, cookies or any other plugins. Some sites are built for speed and are none the poorer for it. The following is a small selection of those that I enjoy.

EPOCZone

This site concentrates on program updates and news and is quick to deliver the information that you want.

Altavista

Hidden away at the bottom of the highly graphical front page of this general search site is a small link to a text only version. I now use this whenever I access Altavista and it is lightening quick.

This site should need no introduction and doesn't need a special text front end as it is quick enough without it!

BBC

Keep up with what is happening around the world with news from the BBC. Again this is a low graphics version tuned for speed.
